UNLEASHING CREATIVITY IN 3D: A CLAY MODELLING WORKSHOP
The IDA Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi recently held a two-day workshop on Clay Modelling. The workshop was led by renowned sculptor Prasanta Mukherjee, who has over 30 years of experience in sculpting. The aim of the workshop was to share Mukherjee’s knowledge and experiences with students through live demonstrations and presentations.
SCULPTING CLAY TO UNLEASH CREATIVITY
Sculpting clay is a fantastic way to unleash one’s creativity and working in three dimensions can be an intriguing artistic challenge. Mr Mukherjee shared his views and future ideas with students, presenting his artworks and discussing different aspects of creating interesting sculptures. He also guided and familiarized students with different types of materials and techniques.

IDA had an enjoyable time working with clay and interpreting their imaginations into 3D models. They enjoyed the interactive session and found the workshop to be a great opportunity to learn and grow as artists. Clay modelling can be a creative form of expression and it was great to see students take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to learn from an experienced sculptor like Mr Mukherjee.
SUCCESSFUL OUTCOME OF THE WORKSHOP
Overall, the two-day workshop was a success and the students found it to be a valuable learning experience. They gained knowledge about different types of sculpting techniques, and materials, and how to express their creativity through this medium. The sculpture is an ancient art form that continues to inspire and excite people today and it was great to see students embrace it in this workshop.
